This morning we received a phone call from the District social worker in Tengeru. He said he was sending us a baby. I nearly jumped out of my chair to do a happy dance. Harriet was thrilled too.
The paternal grandmother of the baby brought this tiny little lady, cocooned in layers of cloth with only her puckered face showing. Her mother had left her at the hospital and run off. The staff called her Queen and she only weighs 1.5 kg (3.3 lbs) Her grandmothers name is Esther, thus, Queen Esther.
After her bath and being bundled in brand new preemie clothes, she guzzled and burped her way through 1.5 ounces of milk, which is good for one her size.
So much fun to have another baby and she is the only girl in the nursery.
