Weighing just 2.5kgs, Junior was born via emergency caesarean section at Mt Meru Hospital. His mother, Neema was aged 35 years old. Neema started having high blood pressure when she was 8 months pregnant. On this particular morning she woke feeling very swollen and was unable to open her eyes and thus was taken to Mt Meru hospital. Her doctor said she was in great danger as her blood pressure was so high and he proceeded to perform an emergency caesarean section to deliver a healthy baby boy, Junior. It wasn’t until the 3rd day post delivery that Neema began to feel dizzy and fainted. She was rushed to the intensive care unit but died later that night.

Juniour’s father, Jackson is 41 years old and works as a watchman in Kisongo. He met Neema only last year and they were not yet married but were going to have their first child together! Sadly, Jackson is unable to care for his son and Mt Meru Hospital had been caring for Junior before his arrival at Cradle of Love this afternoon.

Junior is 2 weeks and 1 day old today.

Sadly, Jackson and the mother’s family don’t see eye to eye but it is likely the maternal grandmother will take care of Junior once he is weaned.
