Cradle of Love Baby Home

Changing one life at a time…

VISITOR POLICY

We are very pleased to welcome visitors to Cradle of Love Baby Home, however we have certain policies that must be adhered to, for the best interest of the babies and for you to have an enjoyable visit. Cradle of Love is not a tourist attraction, where groups can come to see the children as if they are on an additional safari.  We are supported only by donations from individuals so we ask that each person who visits bring a needed item for the children.  Please choose from the items listed below.

1. Groups of more than 7 people, must be divided into small groups on arrival to Cradle. Our children get afraid when large groups of strangers converge on the Home.

2. The only times we will accept groups of visitors are 10 am and 3:30 pm. Monday through Friday.  You must arrive at the scheduled time, not late or early, as our children are on a schedule that is not to be disturbed.

3. Please note that the children will probably cry when you leave, as they enjoy being held. As you can imagine it is hard for them to have people coming and going.

Things to bring that can be purchased in Tanzania:

  • Lactogen I and II (infant formula)
  • Fresh fruits and vegetables
  • Rice
  • Dry Beans
  • Small disposable diapers
  • Tanzania shilling donations

Things to bring from Overseas

  • Good quality infant/toddler toys
  • Hand sanitiser
  • Baby wipes
  • Foreign currency donations

Please do NOT bring:

  • Candies, cookies or gum
  • Knitted items
  • Used clothing (currently we have plenty)

Thank you very much for honouring our requests. We hope that your lives will be touched by spending time with our children.
